PYC Statement on Coronavirus

Pembrokeshire Yacht Club Statement regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19)

PYC is actively monitoring the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak and is monitoring the Royal Yachting Association and current Government advice which are being updated frequently.

The committee is meeting this Thursday to discuss the situation in depth and decide on the best way forward, but for now we advise that you please look out for further notices as the situation is very fluid.

As it stands the Club will be closed until Friday 20th March, further information will follow on this date.

We all need to follow the advice on how to avoid catching or spreading the virus.  If you have any symptoms please stay away for the benefit of all, follow the advice below, and let’s hope we all keep healthy through this.

Latest –

Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a new illness that can affect your lungs and airways.  The global outbreak has now been labelled as a pandemic by the World Health Organization. The risk to the UK has been raised to high.

What do I need to do?
Stay at home away for 7 days if you have either:
a high temperature
a new continuous cough
This will help to protect others in your community (and at the Club) while you are infectious.

Preventive measures
The best ways to prevent the spread of Covid-19 (Coronavirus) and almost all other germs, is;
Regular handwashing, using soap or a sanitiser gel
Cleaning hard surfaces and immediate workspace (including equipment) using disinfectant sprays and wipes
Covering your mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing using a tissue and disposing of used tissues without delay
