Sail Training & Race Coaching

The Club rightly recognises that the future can only be successful with the introduction of new sailing members. With this in mind, we are continually working with the RYA/RYA-CW as a Recognised Training Establishment to develop our dinghy training section and offer weekly sessions under the guidance of our Chief Instructor Christian Smart and Principal Julian Owens.

With a fleet of Optimist and Topper training boats along with a 6 RS Zests, 3 RS Fevas, 2 RS Quests, 2 Lasers and a Topper sport dinghy which are supported by 3 Safety Craft, we are in a position to offer the local children and adults the chance to learn a sport in which they can take part for many years.

Sail training takes place on Tuesdays for beginners April to September. [Note: Please look at this page for sign-up evenings in March or see below contact details]. Ad hoc weekend courses may also be arranged.

Race Coaching/Intermediate training is held on Wednesdays from 6pm for Stage 3/Level 2 and above. The aim being people can join in with Club Racing on Fridays at 7pm.

Powerboat courses are available for those wanting to Volunteer at the Club or are existing members.

Please contact Julian Owens pyctraining@yahoo.com or 07766552833 if you want to register an interest.
